400 meter = 437.45 yard
so the difference is 2.55 yards, I am not sure what you mean by 49.2 440 yards, please be more precise.

If you can let us know how long it took to run 49.2440 yds. then I am sure someone will be able to state how long it would take to run 400 meters assuming that the same speed was maintained throughout.

If it helps you at all, 49.2440 yds. is equal to 42.0287 meters.

difference = 2.55 yds so considering that you were running at a constant rate of speed you would run 400 meters in 48.93 seconds. Of course, since you are not running quite as far you might be going at a little faster speed if you were racing full tilt so it is conceivable that you could run a bit faster than 48.93 being as the distance is shorter.
