Select the type of units below
BMI (Metric)
BMI (Imperial)

Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement of a person's mass (or commonly known as weight) in relation to their height.

BMI was invented back in 1830, and several studies have shown that it can be inaccurate when it comes to general health assessment as it doesn't take body composition, nutrition and lifestyle into consideration.

The imperial formula for determining the BMI is defined as:
$$BMI$$ $$=$$ $$\dfrac{weight}{height \times height}$$ $$\times$$ $$703$$ $$=$$ $$\dfrac{weight}{height^2}$$ $$\times$$ $$703$$
$$BMI$$: The BMI for adults
$$height$$: $$= height_{feet} + height_{inch}$$
$$weight$$: the weight measured in pound(lbs)
$$height_{feet}$$: The first part of the height measured in feet. For example $${\color{rgb(230,179,255)} 5}$$ in $${\color{rgb(230,179,255)} 5}$$'10''
$$height_{inch}$$: The second part of the height measured in inch. For example $${\color{rgb(230,179,255)} 10}$$ in 5'$${\color{rgb(230,179,255)} 10}$$''
The SI unit for BMI is: $$kilogram/square \text{ } meter \text{ } (kg/m^2)$$
